Troubleshooting Tips
Cannot add default device in Zebra Browser Print tool
If you cannot add any Default Devices (i.e. when you search it says “No Devices Found”):
- Exit out of Zebra Browser Print and re-open the software
- Ensure that the printer is turned on
- Unplug and reconnect the printer
Cannot see label templates in dropdown menu
If you cannot see any label templates in Ovation LIMS/Ovation Portal:
- Click the Zebra Browser Print icon to confirm that Zebra Browser Print is running
- Enable pop-ups and reload the page to allow necessary Cookies for Ovation LIMS Sandbox and Production.
Note: You must say yes to the pop-up on your browser for Zebra printers to function - Check that the URL to the Ovation environment you are trying to print from is listed under “Accepted Hosts” on Zebra browser. If it is not listed, select the “Broadcast Search” check box on Zebra browser print, and reload Ovation LIMS
- If none of the above methods work, clear your cache and try reloading the page (see our Clearing a Web Browser’s Cache article)
Labels will not print in Ovation LIMS
If a label will not print in Ovation LIMS:
- Open Zebra Browser Print to confirm that Zebra Browser Print is running
- Contact your Ovation Implementation Team to confirm that your label print templates have been loaded into your Ovation LIMS organization
Label prints wrong font size or wrong info
If a label is displaying the wrong font size or wrong information:
- Check that you are using the driver designed for your template type (203 or 300 dpi). The driver may be included in your Print Template name within the Ovation LIMS.
- If the driver is not included in your Print Template name, check your printer specs in your Printers application from System Preferences. The driver type should be listed as part of the Printer’s name or details.
